Year End Party & Board Elections
Please join us Aug 7th at the Habersham Community Subdivision Club
House & Pool for our End of Season Awards presentation and Board
Nominations. The clubhouse is located at the entrance to the Habersham
subdivision located at the southwest corner of Buford Dam Road &
Nuckolls Road.
The evening will include the following:
Awards presentation
- Food - We invite families to bring their favorite side dish or
finger food to share.
- Cake and drinks will be provided by the team.
- Swimming (of course) - the pool will also be available for use.
Seating in the clubhouse & pool deck is limited, so please bring
chairs.
- Board Elections – parent participations is encouraged &
appreciated
We also take the opportunity at the “end of the year party” for all
attending swim team parents to nominate and elect next year’s Board of
Directors. The term for these officers will be one year and officers may
succeed themselves. The officers shall consist of a President,
Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 3 Chairpersons.
The President will preside at all meetings and carry out the duties
generally ascribed to this office, seeing that the Cumming Waves
function efficiently and effectively at all times. The Vice-President
will assist the President in his or her duties and preside at all
meetings in the absence of the President. He or she will succeed the
President in case of a vacancy in that office. The Secretary will keep
minutes of all meetings and mail information and all notices required to
the membership. The Treasurer will keep up-to-date records of the
receipts and disbursements of all accounts and collect all fees at the
time of registration. Three (3) Chairpersons: Ribbons & Trophies are
responsible for purchasing and distributing of ribbons and trophies
within the organization. Fundraiser is responsible for concession stand,
corporate sponsors, and any fund raising to increase financial stability
as a nonprofit organization. Publicity is responsible for photos, news
releases, and communication to the public.
We are appreciate all the parents who have volunteered to help make
2010 an exciting competitive year for our swimmers. If you are
interested making 2011 an even better year, we look forward to your
suggestions and involvement. Any team member parent is welcome to
participate on the 2011 Board, or if you would like to nominate anyone,
please submit any names for inclusion to
2011 Cuming Waves Board.

State Shirts Need to be ordered by Wednesday - July 21st!
If you would like to order a STATE T-SHIRT, for your swimmer(s), who
have qualified for and are attending the state competition, t-shirts are
available for $12. Please make sure your order & payment are returned to
a board member by Wednesday. The shirts will include the team logo over
the pocket with swimmers first and last names on the back.
Barabara Robbins will be at the pool Tues between the older and
younger practice sessions. Scott Johnson will be at the Tuesday
practices, and Wed practice for older kids.

Cumming Waves take 3rd Place in
NGSL League
Championships!
The NGSL League Championships took place this past weekend. Coach
Kris, Coach Lisa & Coach Cassie were so proud of our swimmers. They saw
many swimmers turn in their best times; some swam strokes that they had
never competed in before; and some swimmers really caught the Wave of
competition and rode it for all it was worth!!. It has been so rewarding
to see the swimmers mature over the short summer season progressing from
"head out of the water" to swimming a 50 and doing a flip turn.
As the coaches watched the warm-ups with the group in the water
en-mass they could see the advancement of all the swimmers' skill level.
It is truly rewarding to see how far each swimmer has changed and
watched the confidence as if matured over the summer.
Coach Kris does not have the individual results ready to post as they
have not arrived from the meet managers yet. But, , , ,

Coach Kris can't say enough how proud she was about the efforts that
our swimmers put forth and how hard they worked. This meet is truly a
"team effort" competition where swimmers go for it for the team and put
themselves secondary.

Picture Day
Waves Picture Day is June 10th (Thursday) forms will be handed out
the week before.
- Group picture will be at 8 AM (arrive no later than 7:45AM)
- Individual pictures will be done before & after group picture
during normal practice time for the swimmer's age group
- Please support the Waves in this fund raising event

Swimmers & Parents,
- After school practices will be held Monday May 17, 2010 thru Friday
May 28, 2010.
- Morning practices will begin June 1, 2010
- No dropping off swimmers at park gate entrance. Parents must park in
spot to let off or pick up. No exceptions!
- No pets of any kind allowed in pool area.
- Please make sure all documents and fee's are up to date and
turned in to Beth Fasnacht (Treasurer/ Volunteer).
