Lucky # 7 for the City of Cumming / Cumming Waves

The Cumming Waves Swim Team has done it again. Lucky # Seven. The Waves swim team won the North Georgia Swim League Championship this past weekend. Coach Kris Hunt has been amazing with her fun coaching style. The numbers were close in the first session, but the Waves prevailed in the second session when the older swimmers swam their hearts out. Congratulation to the entire team. High point trophies go to the swimmers who make the most points in their age group. They were obtained by three of the Waves talented swimmers, 10u Kelsey Robins, 14u Katie McLean and 18u Emily Towner.

Challenge, Fight, Win

Kha Ching, The Cumming Waves narrowly pulled out a win, at the Regional Sports Festival held at Green Street Pool in Gainesville. After many delays in the hot hot sun, The Waves were 100 points behind the Sting Rays, going into the afternoon session. The Waves caught the Rays in the 18u girls breast stroke and then poured it on to win the Sports Festival. A round of applause to all the swimmers who swam their best.

Splashing off to a Fun Season

The Cumming Waves have splashed off to a good start to the summer season. They have completed four fun meets against Cornerstone, Decula, Habersham, Winder, the Stingrays and the Elements. The Waves have over 150 swimmers. Coach Kris Hunt and Coach Stacie Matchan continue to drive the Waves to successful seasons.

The Waves are up against stiff competition this year. Over 250 swimmers showed up in Winder from several different teams. There are many talented swimmers in the North Georgia area this year. The Winder YMCA put on a fun smooth meet.
